{"id":10070,"date":"2013-07-01T09:45:55","date_gmt":"2013-07-01T13:45:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=10070"},"modified":"2013-07-01T10:27:33","modified_gmt":"2013-07-01T14:27:33","slug":"the-inevitable-penalty-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=10070","title":{"rendered":"The Inevitable Penalty"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>You will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny \u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?version=31&amp;search=Matthew+5%3A26\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew 5:26<\/a><\/h1>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mz3V8IH6xUE\" height=\"315\" width=\"620\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<!-- .entry-meta -->There is no heaven that has a little corner of hell in it. God is determined to make you pure, holy, and right, and He will not allow you to escape from the scrutiny of the Holy Spirit for even one moment. He urged you to come to judgment immediately when He convicted you, but you did not obey. Then the inevitable process began to work, bringing its inevitable penalty. Now you have been \u201cthrown into prison, [and] . . . you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=5:25-26\">5:25-26<\/a>). Yet you ask, \u201cIs this a God of mercy and love?\u201d When seen from God\u2019s perspective, it is a glorious ministry of love. God is going to bring you out pure, spotless, and undefiled, but He wants you to recognize the nature you were exhibiting\u2014 the nature of demanding your right to yourself. The moment you are willing for God to change your nature, His recreating forces will begin to work. And the moment you realize that God\u2019s purpose is to get you into the right relationship with Himself and then with others, He will reach to the very limits of the universe to help you take the right road. Decide to do it right now, saying, \u201cYes, Lord, I <em>will<\/em> write that letter,\u201d or, \u201cI <em>will<\/em> be reconciled to that person now.\u201d<\/p>\n<section>These sermons of Jesus Christ are meant for your will and your conscience, not for your head. If you dispute these verses from the Sermon on the Mount with your head, you will dull the appeal to your heart.If you find yourself asking, \u201cI wonder why I\u2019m not growing spiritually with God?\u201d\u2014 then ask yourself if you are paying your debts from God\u2019s standpoint. Do <em>now<\/em> what you will have to do someday. Every moral question or call comes with an \u201cought\u201d behind it\u2014 the knowledge of knowing what we ought to do.<\/section>\n<section>_____________________________________________________________<\/section>\n<section><\/section>\n<section>July 2, 2013<\/p>\n<p>Lord, thank you for the song you provided this morning. The devotional by Oswald Chambers left me a bit concerned. Because inside I have been holding on to little grudges, and my rights to myself about certain issues.\u00a0 Like Paul said, even though I want to do the right things\u2026.often and regularly, I do not.<\/p>\n<p>And God says\u2026\u201d<i>Jesus paid it all, all of your debt. There is no debt for you to pay, unless you insist on trying to handle all your debts and responsibilities for your thoughts and actions yourself. And as you have discovered, you cannot.\u00a0 And I will do whatever it takes to bring you to that awareness, but with the awareness I also bring you mercy, grace and a love shaped by Jesus on the cross.
