{"id":10750,"date":"2014-02-03T09:47:59","date_gmt":"2014-02-03T14:47:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=10750"},"modified":"2014-02-03T10:57:02","modified_gmt":"2014-02-03T15:57:02","slug":"becoming-the-filth-of-the-world-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=10750","title":{"rendered":"Becoming the \u201cFilth of the World\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>We have been made as the filth of the world . . . \u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?version=31&amp;search=1+Corinthians+4%3A13\" target=\"_blank\">1 Corinthians 4:13<\/a><\/h1>\n<p><strong><!-- .entry-meta --> <!-- .entry-header --><\/strong><\/p>\n<section>\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bDYWOH-q-RI\" height=\"315\" width=\"620\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nThese words are not an exaggeration. The only reason they may not be true of us who call ourselves ministers of the gospel is not that Paul forgot or misunderstood the exact truth of them, but that we are too cautious and concerned about our own desires to allow ourselves to become the refuse or \u201cfilth of the world.\u201d \u201cFill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ . . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Colossians+1:24\">Colossians 1:24<\/a>) is not the result of the holiness of sanctification, but the evidence of consecration-being \u201cseparated to the gospel of God . . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans+1:1\">Romans 1:1<\/a>).\u201cBeloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you . . .\u201d (1 Peter 4:12). If we do think the things we encounter are strange, it is because we are fearful and cowardly. We pay such close attention to our own interests and desires that we stay out of the mire and say, \u201cI won\u2019t submit; I won\u2019t bow or bend.\u201d And you don\u2019t have to\u2014 you can be saved by the \u201cskin of your teeth\u201d if you like. You can refuse to let God count you as one who is \u201cseparated to the gospel . . . .\u201d Or you can say, \u201cI don\u2019t care if I am treated like \u2019the filth of the world\u2019 as long as the gospel is proclaimed.\u201d A true servant of Jesus Christ is one who is willing to experience martyrdom for the reality of the gospel of God. When a moral person is confronted with contempt, immorality, disloyalty, or dishonesty, he is so repulsed by the offense that he turns away and in despair closes his heart to the offender. But the miracle of the redemptive reality of God is that the worst and the vilest offender can never exhaust the depths of His love. Paul did not say that God separated him to show what a wonderful man He could make of him, but \u201c<em>to reveal His Son in me<\/em>. . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Galatians+1:16\">Galatians 1:16<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>__________________________________________________________<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">February 3, 2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Lord please help me live out this song\u2026whatever will come my way\u2026.I won\u2019t be shaken.\u00a0 When circumstances seem to be too much, I seem to only be able to see the circumstances, and wonder about my position with You. I mean if I am Your son, a man after your own heart, how can I be placed in these circumstances so often?\u00a0 How can I find myself struggling over and over with the same trials with relationships, tent making, and my walk with You? I would think by now I would have achieved a certain position that would not allow me to be shaken by circumstances or difficulties. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And God says<i>\u2026\u201dAll things work for the good of those that love God and are called according to His purpose. All things work for your good\u2026everything that occurs in your life; all the circumstances, all the difficulties, all the victories, all your achievements and failures to achieve work for your good.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>\u201cIt may not appear to be that way, when your life and daily living does not turn out the way you think it should or would like it to.\u00a0 But consider that I know what is good for you, in the very long run, not just this life but the everlasting next life as well. \u00a0I know what will help make you a man after My own heart.\u00a0 If I would not spare My own Son how would I withhold any good thing from you?\u00a0 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own devices, and I will make your paths straight.
