{"id":11233,"date":"2014-05-30T10:10:50","date_gmt":"2014-05-30T14:10:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=11233"},"modified":"2014-05-30T11:17:39","modified_gmt":"2014-05-30T15:17:39","slug":"yes-but-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=11233","title":{"rendered":"\u201cYes\u2014 But . . .!\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Lord, I will follow You, but . . . \u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?version=31&amp;search=Luke+9%3A61\" target=\"_blank\">Luke 9:61<\/a><\/h1>\n<p><!-- .entry-meta --> <!-- .entry-header --><\/p>\n<section>\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2ODe4sGCKxc\" height=\"315\" width=\"620\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nSuppose God tells you to do something that is an enormous test of your common sense, totally going against it. What will you do? Will you hold back? If you get into the habit of doing something physically, you will do it every time you are tested until you break the habit through sheer determination. And the same is true spiritually. Again and again you will come right up to what Jesus wants, but every time you will turn back at the true point of testing, until you are determined to abandon yourself to God in total surrender. Yet we tend to say, \u201cYes, but\u2014 suppose I do obey God in this matter, what about . . . ?\u201d Or we say, \u201cYes, I will obey God if what He asks of me doesn\u2019t go against my common sense, but don\u2019t ask me to take a step in the dark.\u201dJesus Christ demands the same unrestrained, adventurous spirit in those who have placed their trust in Him that the natural man exhibits. If a person is ever going to do anything worthwhile, there will be times when he must risk everything by his leap in the dark. In the spiritual realm, Jesus Christ demands that you risk everything you hold on to or believe through common sense, and leap by faith into what He says. Once you obey, you will immediately find that what He says is as solidly consistent as common sense.By the test of common sense, Jesus Christ\u2019s statements may seem mad, but when you test them by the trial of faith, your findings will fill your spirit with the awesome fact that they are the very words of God. Trust completely in God, and when He brings you to a new opportunity of adventure, offering it to you, see that you take it. We act like pagans in a crisis\u2014 only one out of an entire crowd is daring enough to invest his faith in the character of God.__________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">May 30, 2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Journal Entry for Today-JDV<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Lord, this devotional is a good one to follow on to our lessons about letting go of our need for rational knowledge of the ways You work. When I say <strong><em>Yes, \u2026But<\/em><\/strong>, I am really saying I don\u2019t understand how You are going to provide for me. <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">I do not understand how You can make it all work out for my good. <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">(<\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans+8%3A28&amp;version=MSG\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Romans 8:28<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">) I have abandoned faith in favor of my rational understanding and worldly comprehension. Lord, please help me to live in You with abandon, to surrender to You all things, not just the ideas, commitments and tasks that seem rational.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Please help me to trust You with all aspects of my life.\u00a0 Help me to remain curious about how You will work in my life, not <strong><em>IF<\/em> <\/strong>You will work in my life. I believe, please help me in my unbelief.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">And God says\u2026\u201d<\/span><i><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">My ways are not your ways. (<\/span><\/i><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Isaiah%2055:8-9&amp;version=MSG\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Isaiah 55:8-11<\/span><\/a><i><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">) And because you do not understand My ways, it is essential that you simply place your faith in Me. Trust in Me in all your ways, listen for My voice and follow Me even when it does not make \u201crational sense\u201d. You have heard people say\u2026\u201dHe is so heavenly minded, he is no earthly good?\u201d <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Live that way. (<\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+10%3A15&amp;version=MSG\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Mark 10:15)<\/span><\/a><\/i><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">So that you follow Me because of your faith, not because it makes sense to you or others. Believe that I will repair and restore your relationships, give you the income, job, house, car or whatever else you require. (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Philippians+4%3A19&amp;version=NIV\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-size: medium;\">Philippians 4:19<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">)Sometimes you may think you require \u201cX\u201d only to find that you require something else entirely different.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Just trust me to meet all your needs (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew%206:33&amp;version=MSG\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-size: medium;\">Matthew 6:33<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">) , surrender your life and your idea of your requirements and rational ideas to Me and I will make all your paths straight. Seek first\u00a0the kingdom of God, which is Jesus and everything you need, will provided, even though and sometimes especially when you do not and cannot understand.
