{"id":12127,"date":"2014-12-25T10:35:19","date_gmt":"2014-12-25T15:35:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=12127"},"modified":"2014-12-25T11:12:35","modified_gmt":"2014-12-25T16:12:35","slug":"his-birth-and-our-new-birth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=12127","title":{"rendered":"His Birth and Our New Birth"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"entry-title\">&#8220;Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,&#8221; which is translated, &#8220;God with us.&#8221; \u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?version=31&amp;search=Matthew+1%3A23\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew 1:23<\/a><\/h1>\n<p><!-- .entry-meta --><\/p>\n<p><!-- .entry-header --><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/O9NG8K8GxZ0\" width=\"620\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<section class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"post-content\"><strong>His Birth in History<\/strong>. \u201c\u2026that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+1:35\">Luke 1:35<\/a>). Jesus Christ was born <em>into<\/em> this world, not <em>from<\/em> it. He did not emerge out of history; He came into history from the outside. Jesus Christ is not the best human being the human race can boast of\u2014 He is a Being for whom the human race can take no credit at all. He is not man becoming God, but God Incarnate\u2014 God coming into human flesh from outside it. His life is the highest and the holiest entering through the most humble of doors. Our Lord\u2019s birth was an advent\u2014 the appearance of God in human form.<\/div>\n<div class=\"post-content\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"post-content\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"post-content\"><strong>His Birth in Me<\/strong>. \u201cMy little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you\u2026\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Galatians+4:19\">Galatians 4:19<\/a>). Just as our Lord came into human history from outside it, He must also come into me from outside. Have I allowed my personal human life to become a \u201cBethlehem\u201d for the Son of God? I cannot enter the realm of the kingdom of God unless I am born again from above by a birth totally unlike physical birth. \u201cYou must be born again\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+3:7\">John 3:7<\/a>). This is not a command, but a fact based on the authority of God. The evidence of the new birth is that I yield myself so completely to God that \u201cChrist is formed\u201d in me. And once \u201cChrist is formed\u201d in me, His nature immediately begins to work through me.<\/div>\n<div class=\"post-content\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"post-content\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"post-content\"><strong>God Evident in the Flesh.<\/strong> This is what is made so profoundly possible for you and for me through the redemption of man by Jesus Christ.<\/div>\n<div class=\"post-content\">__________________________________________________________<\/div>\n<div class=\"post-content\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>December 25 2015<\/p>\n<p>Journal Entry for Today-JDV<\/p>\n<p>Good morning Lord and Happy Birthday. This devotional and\u00a0 song remind me that while your birthday is a day to celebrate, I cannot forget why You came to earth. You were born to die so that I could live, and you live in me. Thank You Lord.<\/p>\n<p>And God says\u2026\u201d<em>Many were, and are, looking for a king like David or Solomon. And instead I sent a baby. Many were looking for a miracle to keep Jesus from the cross. Instead, He suffered painful and agonizing beatings, was mocked and died on the cross. Then I raised Him up. These are all reasons to celebrate and recognize Jesus now living inside of you.
