But remember what Paul means by \u201cthe gospel,\u201d namely, the reality of redemption in our Lord Jesus Christ. We are inclined to make sanctification the goal of our preaching. Paul refers to personal experiences only by way of illustration, never as the end of the matter. We are not commissioned to preach salvation or sanctification\u2014 we are commissioned to lift up Jesus Christ (see\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+12:32\">John 12:32<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div class=\"mobile-sharing-button\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mobile-sharing-button\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mobile-sharing-button\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mobile-sharing-button\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mobile-sharing-button\">It is an injustice to say that Jesus Christ labored in redemption to make me a saint. Jesus Christ labored in redemption to redeem the whole world and to place it perfectly whole and restored before the throne of God. The fact that we can experience redemption illustrates the power of its reality, but that experience is a byproduct and not the goal of redemption. If God were human, how sick and tired He would be of the constant requests we make for our salvation and for our sanctification. We burden His energies from morning till night asking for things for ourselves or for something from which we want to be delivered! When we finally touch the underlying foundation of the reality of the gospel of God, we will never bother Him anymore with little personal complaints.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mobile-sharing-button\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mobile-sharing-button\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<section class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>The one passion of Paul\u2019s life was to proclaim the gospel of God. He welcomed heartbreak, disillusionment, and tribulation for only one reason\u2014 these things kept him unmovable in his devotion to the gospel of God.<\/p>\n<p>_________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>February 1, 2016<\/p>\n<p>Journal Entry for Today-JDV<\/p>\n<p>Good morning God and thank You for this day and this devotional. Thank You as well for this lesson that once again points us to Jesus. That is the key message today, and was the key message yesterday in church; that we focus on Jesus, and His power and grace available to and for everyone. You have also been teaching us that our first step is to surrender ourselves to Jesus, be connected, and allow the power of Jesus to address everything else; how we see ourselves connected to Jesus, what we say to others, when we say it, how we live and how we see ourselves in relation to You and our role in the world. Is this the point today Lord? That we not worry or wonder about how we proclaim You? That we simply live out of surrender and connection and let You handle the rest?<\/p>\n<p>And God says\u2026\u201d<em>Seek first the kingdom of God, which is Jesus, and I will provide everything else you require, including the awareness of how you are to proclaim Jesus. It may be that you are to talk to others or simply to live out the Gospel by helping others. It may be that you are to go through more trials and difficult circumstances so that others can notice how you keep your equilibrium even in the face of overwhelming difficulties. When you acknowledge Me in all your ways and do not rely on your own understanding, I can make your paths straight. When you delight yourself in Me, you can be certain that I will give you the desires of your \u201cJesus shaped\u201d heart. You can be certain that all things work for the good of those that love the Lord. Your life can be a wonderful adventure, and you can \u201cknow\u201d that you are living a great adventure.
