When the Lord initially comes in contact with our conscience, the first thing our conscience does is awaken our will, and our will always agrees with God. Yet you say, \u201cBut I don\u2019t know if my will is in agreement with God.\u201d Look to Jesus and you will find that your will and your conscience are in agreement with Him every time. What causes you to say \u201cI will not obey\u201d is something less deep and penetrating than your will. It is perversity or stubbornness, and they are never in agreement with God. The most profound thing in a person is his will, not sin.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mobile-sharing-button\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"mobile-sharing-button\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<section class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>The will is the essential element in God\u2019s creation of human beings\u2014 sin is a perverse nature which entered into people. In someone who has been born again, the source of the will is Almighty God. \u201c\u2026for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.\u201d With focused attention and great care, you have to \u201cwork out\u201d what God \u201cworks in\u201d you\u2014 not <em>work<\/em> to accomplish or earn \u201cyour own salvation,\u201d but <em>work it out<\/em> so you will exhibit the evidence of a life based with determined, unshakable faith on the complete and perfect redemption of the Lord.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>As you do this, you do not bring an opposing will up against God\u2019s will\u2014 God\u2019s will <em>is<\/em> your will. Your natural choices will be in accordance with God\u2019s will, and living this life will be as natural as breathing. Stubbornness is an unintelligent barrier, refusing enlightenment and blocking its flow. The only thing to do with this barrier of stubbornness is to blow it up with \u201cdynamite,\u201d and the \u201cdynamite\u201d is obedience to the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<section class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>Do I believe that Almighty God is the Source of my will? God not only expects me to do His will, but He is in me to do it.<\/p>\n<p>_______________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>June 6 2016<\/p>\n<p>Journal Entry for Today-JDV<\/p>\n<p>Good morning God and thank you for this day and this devotional. This scripture has been somewhat confusing for me; before Your teaching on surrender and connection. Now I understand \u201cwork out my salvation\u201d to mean living in the surrender, connection, curiosity process; allowing You to live in me and through me. And as I live in this process, I become more and more attuned to surrender, connection and curiosity as \u201cmy work\u201d as I rest in You. Is this the right road Lord? Am I on the right track?<\/p>\n<p>And God says\u2026\u201d<em>Yes, when you live in and out of surrender, connection, curiosity and obedience, you find you I am living through you. You no longer panic in the face of difficult circumstances, or even your own failures, or the failures of those you love and have trusted. When you seek first the Kingdom of God, which is Jesus, you find that I will meet all your needs. When you trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understandings, you find that I make your paths straight. As you live in surrender, connection, curiosity and obedience, you in fact are working out your salvation, making your salvation come alive.
