It is one thing to say, \u201cDo not fret,\u201d but something very different to have such a nature that you find yourself unable to fret. It\u2019s easy to say, \u201cRest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm+37:7\">Psalm 37:7<\/a>) until our own little world is turned upside down and we are forced to live in confusion and agony like so many other people. Is it possible to \u201crest in the Lord\u201d then? If this \u201cDo not\u201d doesn\u2019t work there, then it will not work anywhere. This \u201cDo not\u201d must work during our days of difficulty and uncertainty, as well as our peaceful days, or it will never work. And if it will not work in your particular case, it will not work for anyone else. Resting in the Lord is not dependent on your external circumstances at all, but on your relationship with God Himself.<\/div>\n<section class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>Worrying always results in sin. We tend to think that a little anxiety and worry are simply an indication of how wise we really are, yet it is actually a much better indication of just how wicked we are. Fretting rises from our determination to have our own way. Our Lord never worried and was never anxious, because His purpose was never to accomplish His own plans but to fulfill God\u2019s plans. Fretting is wickedness for a child of God.<\/p>\n<p>Have you been propping up that foolish soul of yours with the idea that your circumstances are too much for God to handle? Set all your opinions and speculations aside and \u201cabide under the shadow of the Almighty\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm+91:1\">Psalm 91:1<\/a>). Deliberately tell God that you will not fret about whatever concerns you. Spirituality\u2019s goal is to get people to that deeper level, to the unified field or nondual thinking, where God alone can hold contradictions and paradox.<\/p>\n<p>When people ask me which is the more important, action or contemplation, I know it is an impossible question to answer because they are eternally united in one embrace, two sides of one coin. So I say that <em>action <\/em>is not the important word, nor is <em>contemplation<\/em>; <em>and<\/em> is the important word! How do you put the two together?
