What line of thinking do my thoughts take? Do I turn to what God says or to my own fears? Am I simply repeating what God says, or am I learning to truly hear Him and then to respond after I have heard what He says? \u201cFor He Himself has said, \u2019I will never leave you nor forsake you.\u2019 So we may boldly say: \u2019The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?\u2019 \u201d (\u00a0Hebrews 13:5-6<\/a> \u00a0).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI will never leave you . . .\u201d\u2014 not for any reason; not my sin, selfishness, stubbornness, nor waywardness. Have I really let God say to me that He will never leave me? If I have not truly heard this assurance of God, then let me listen again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will never . . . forsake you.\u201d Sometimes it is not the difficulty of life but the drudgery of it that makes me think God will forsake me. When there is no major difficulty to overcome, no vision from God, nothing wonderful or beautiful\u2014 just the everyday activities of life\u2014 do I hear God\u2019s assurance even in these?<\/p>\n

We have the idea that God is going to do some exceptional thing\u2014 that He is preparing and equipping us for some extraordinary work in the future. But as we grow in His grace we find that God is glorifying Himself here and now, at this very moment. If we have God\u2019s assurance behind us, the most amazing strength becomes ours, and we learn to sing, glorifying Him even in the ordinary days and ways of life.<\/p>\n

Sometimes I wonder if God hears me at all, other times I know He is right here with me. I wonder if I am walking down the right\u00a0road and or making the decisions He wants for my life. I worry that I may be hearing my own voice and not His. I wonder if He is there at all as I chase my own thoughts and concerns about my life and the daily\u00a0circumstances of my life.<\/p>\n

And God says\u2026.\u201dI am always with you, nothing can ever separate us. That includes your own wants and needs and desires. You know that all you need do to hear me is to listen. My sheep know my voice\u2026<\/strong>You know when you are connected to me. The fear you have is not that you may be hearing your own voice and not mine, because you know the difference, the fear you have is that you may not measure up once you understand my will for your life.<\/em><\/p>\n

But there is no measuring up. There is no failure when you choose to operate in my will. Simply allow me to operate in and through you. Be transparent, open and available to Me and your brothers and sisters and experience a rewarding and fruitful life.
