We trample the blood of the Son of God underfoot if we think we are forgiven because we are sorry for our sins. The only reason for the forgiveness of our sins by God, and the infinite depth of His promise to forget them, is the death of Jesus Christ. Our repentance is merely the result of our personal realization of the atonement by the Cross of Christ, which He has provided for us. “. . . Christ Jesus . . . became for us wisdom from God–and righteousness and sanctification and redemption . . .” (\u00a01 Corinthians 1:30<\/a> ). Once we realize that Christ has become all this for us, the limitless joy of God begins in us. And wherever the joy of God is not present, the death sentence is still in effect.<\/p>\n

……. for the joy of the Lord<\/span> is your strength!\u201d Nehemiah 8:10<\/p>\n

Whenever we have lost joy in an area of our lives, perhaps it is because that area remains with us. We have not not given it over to the cross.\u00a0 Could that be an indicator? Without joy, we are still holding onto our own circumstance.\u00a0 Fulblown acceptance of the cross will include joy….. JDV<\/em><\/p>\n

Galations 5:22<\/em><\/sup><\/p>\n

22<\/sup>But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23<\/sup>gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.<\/em><\/p>\n

The opposite of joy will be visceral tension. Visceral tension tells us that we have not turned it over to the God of the universe. DJR<\/em><\/p>\n

No matter who or what we are, God restores us to right standing with Himself only by means of the death of Jesus Christ. God does this, not because Jesus pleads with Him to do so but because He died. It cannot be earned, just accepted.<\/p>\n

And we accept the cross in areas of our lives as we turn those areas over to God. This is\u00a0how real transformation in all areas takes place. We pickup our cross daily in areas of of our lives and God transforms us as we lose ourselves and our control in the cross…..JDV\/DJR<\/em><\/p>\n

Luke 9:23<\/a><\/strong>
\nThen he said to the crowd, \u201cIf any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your\u00a0cross<\/strong> daily<\/strong>, and follow me.<\/p>\n

the pleading for salvation which deliberately ignores the Cross of Christ is useless. It is knocking at a door other than the one which Jesus has already opened. We protest by saying, “But I don\u2019t want to come that way. It is too humiliating to be received as a sinner.” God\u2019s response, through Peter, is, “. . . there is no other name . . . by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12<\/a> ). What at first appears to be heartlessness on God\u2019s part is actually the true expression of His heart. There is unlimited entrance His way. “In Him we have redemption through His blood . . .” (\u00a0Ephesians 1:7<\/a> ). To identify with the death of Jesus Christ means that we must die to everything that was never a part of Him.<\/p>\n

God is just in saving bad people only as He makes them good. Our Lord does not pretend we are all right when we are all wrong. The atonement by the Cross of Christ is the propitiation God uses to make unholy people holy.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
