Jesus did not say that everyone must cut off his right hand, but that \u201cif your right hand causes you to sin\u201d in your walk with Him, then it is better to \u201ccut it off.\u201d There are many things that are perfectly legitimate, but if you are going to concentrate on God you cannot do them. Your right hand is one of the best things you have, but Jesus says that if it hinders you in following His precepts, then \u201ccut it off.\u201d The principle taught here is the strictest discipline or lesson that ever hit humankind.<\/p>\n

When God changes you through regeneration, giving you new life through spiritual rebirth, your life initially has the characteristic of being maimed.<\/p>\n

\"\"There are a hundred and one things that you dare not do\u2014 things that would be sin for you, and would be recognized as sin by those who really know you.But the unspiritual people around you will say, \u201cWhat\u2019s so wrong with doing that? How absurd you are!\u201d There has never yet been a saint who has not lived a maimed life initially. Yet it is better to enter into life maimed but lovely in God\u2019s sight than to appear lovely to man\u2019s eyes but lame to God\u2019s. At first, Jesus Christ through His Spirit has to restrain you from doing a great many things that may be perfectly right for everyone else but not right for you. Yet, see that you don\u2019t use your restrictions to criticize someone else.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Christian life is a maimed life initially, but in Matthew 5:48<\/a> Jesus gave us the picture of a perfectly well-rounded life\u2014 \u201cYou shall be perfect<\/em>, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lord if the story of the Israelites in the desert for 40 years is a metaphor and life lesson for me, can you please help me take the short cut? If they spent 40 years wandering around on a journey that should have taken weeks, can I please take a more direct route for my life?<\/p>\n

And God says\u2026\u201dWhen you are connected to Me, your journey is completed. You are often concerned about learning the lessons more quickly, or making the right choices more immediately so that your relationship with Me becomes the \u201cmeans to an end\u201d. You want to be close to Me and connected to Me so that you can cut through the learning and trials more quickly and move on to your \u201cpromised land\u201d. But I am your promised land. I am the Alpha and the Omega. Trust in Me…delight in me\u2026NOT because you may receive the delights of your heart, but because I am the delights of your heart<\/strong>. Pray, worship, and meditate to that end and you will never worry about how long a journey takes. You have eternity to worship and delight in Me\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/em>Good Morning, Lord,<\/p>\n

Today I woke up thinking that \u201cwhenever I say yes to something, I am saying no to the other options.\u201d \u00a0 Like if I yield to an obsession or addiction, I am saying no to the other options…and since your best isn\u2019t in the addiction\u2026 I am saying no to you and your best. \u00a0 Then I saw that the inverse is not necessarily true.\u00a0 When I say no to something, \u2026 It still leaves options of what I will say yes to.\u00a0 \u00a0 So I have to first say no to whatever shiny bauble of the world that is attracting me\u2026 and then hear your voice about all of the options\u2026 Which one is your best for me for now.??? \u00a0 Then to see Oswald\u2019s devo and the music today \u2026 you\u2019re piling it on. \u00a0 I perceive that I\u2019m supposed to be hearing this\u2026.<\/p>\n

The key is connection and relationship.\u00a0 If you stay connected, you wont be confused or fooled. \u00a0 And even when you miss it or it is waiting time \u2026 you will still be OK.\u00a0 So stay close to me and you will get faster and better at hearing my voice. \u00a0 Then it will also get easier to quickly obey it. \u00a0 Because you want to \u2026 not because you have to or to avoid 40 year desert trips.<\/em><\/p>\n
