For instance, if I allow any turning away from God in my private life, everyone around me suffers. We \u201csit <em>together<\/em> in the heavenly places . . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Ephesians+2:6\">Ephesians 2:6<\/a>). \u201cIf one member suffers, all the members suffer with it . . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Corinthians+12:26\">1 Corinthians 12:26<\/a>). If you allow physical selfishness, mental carelessness, moral insensitivity, or spiritual weakness, everyone in contact with you will suffer. But you ask, \u201cWho is sufficient to be able to live up to such a lofty standard?\u201d \u201cOur sufficiency is from God . . .\u201d and God alone (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Corinthians+3:5\">2 Corinthians 3:5<\/a>).\u201cYou shall be witnesses to Me . . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts+1:8\">Acts 1:8<\/a>). How many of us are willing to spend every bit of our nervous, mental, moral, and spiritual energy for Jesus Christ? That is what God means when He uses the word <em>witness<\/em>. But it takes time, so be patient with yourself. Why has God left us on the earth? Is it simply to be saved and sanctified? No, it is to be at work in service to Him. Am I willing to be broken bread and poured-out wine for Him? Am I willing to be of no value to this age or this life except for one purpose and one alone\u2014 to be used to disciple men and women to the Lord Jesus Christ. My life of service to God is the way I say \u201cthank you\u201d to Him for His inexpressibly wonderful salvation. Remember, it is quite possible for God to set any of us aside if we refuse to be of service to Him\u2014 \u201c. . . lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Corinthians+9:27\">1 Corinthians 9:27<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div>____________________________________________________________________________<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>February 15, 2011<\/p>\n<p>Journal Entry for Today-JDV<\/p>\n<p>Lord, while I understand that I am to be broken bread and poured wine for others, my own circumstances often get in my way, as I focus on my own issues, opportunities and circumstances. Please help me move my focus from my \u201cown stuff\u201d and take hold of the the peace that passes all understanding that can come from living out the gospel to and for others.<\/p>\n<p><em>And God says\u2026\u201d I made you to be your brother\u2019s keeper and you are most complete when you live out your life to this purpose. Jesus gave you but two commandments; love God with all that you are, and love others as yourself. When you live out these commandments,\u00a0 you are living in My will, and over time you are transformed, and your life grows\u00a0 into a life more abundant.\u00a0 <\/em><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Matthew 22:36-40 (MSG) the Most Important Command<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>When the Pharisees heard how he had bested the Sadducees, they gathered their forces for an assault. One of their religion scholars spoke for them; posing a question they hoped would show him up: &#8220;Teacher, which command in God&#8217;s Law is the most important?&#8221;\u00a0 <em>Jesus said, &#8220;&#8216;Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.&#8217; This is the most important, the first on any list.
