<\/p>\n<\/iframe>In that day you will ask in My name . . . ,\u201d that is, in My nature. Not \u201cYou will use My name as some magic word,\u201d but\u2014\u201dYou will be so intimate with Me that you will be one with Me.\u201d \u201cThat day\u201d is not a day in the next life, but a day meant for here and now. \u201c. . . for the Father Himself loves you . . .\u201d\u2014 the Father\u2019s love is evidence that our union with Jesus is complete and absolute. Our Lord does not mean that our lives will be free from external difficulties and uncertainties, but that just as He knew the Father\u2019s heart and mind, we too can be lifted by Him into heavenly places through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, so that He can reveal the teachings of God to us.<\/section>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>\u201c. . . whatever you ask the Father in My name . . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+16:23\">John 16:23<\/a>). \u201cThat day\u201d is a day of peace and an untroubled relationship between God and His saint. Just as Jesus stood unblemished and pure in the presence of His Father, we too by the mighty power and effectiveness of the baptism of the Holy Spirit can be lifted into that relationship\u2014\u201d. . . that they may be one just as We are one . . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+17:22\">John 17:22<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201c. . . He will give you\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+16:23\">John 16:23<\/a>). Jesus said that because of His name God will recognize and respond to our prayers. What a great challenge and invitation\u2014to pray in His name! Through the resurrection and ascension power of Jesus, and through the Holy Spirit He has sent, we can be lifted into such a relationship. Once in that wonderful position, having been placed there by Jesus Christ, we can pray to God in Jesus\u2019 name\u2014in His nature. This is a gift granted to us through the Holy Spirit, and Jesus said, \u201c. . . whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.\u201d The sovereign character of Jesus Christ is tested and proved by His own statements.<\/p>\n<p>____________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>May 29, 2012<\/p>\n<p>Journal Entry for Today-JDV<\/p>\n<p>Lord, I have had so many unanswered prayers I often wonder\u00a0 if your promise was meant for everyone else but me. You know the promise that…\u201d My Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.\u201d \u00a0I did not see any qualifiers in the scripture,\u00a0qualifiers like, \u201cWhatever you ask must be in God\u2019s will\u201d, or \u201cyou must be in\u00a0 God\u2019s will\u201d, or \u201cGod is going to give you something better; later\u201d. And the one\u00a0 that seems to make the most sense to my limited awareness; God will only answer\u00a0 your prayers for your ultimate good.\u00a0 OK,\u00a0 I understand and appreciate those qualifiers\u201d, but the scripture is very\u00a0 clear, <em>\u201cMy Father will give you whatever you\u00a0 ask in my name\u201d<\/em>. Lord, what are the issues and conditions or caveats that condition\u00a0 what at first seemed like a very simple promise that I could have whatever I asked?<\/p>\n<p><em>And\u00a0 God says\u2026\u201dJust like a little child that wants to run headlong out into the\u00a0 street, I need to \u201cparent you\u201d until you are the very image of Jesus, or until\u00a0you understand and will avoid the dangers of trying to fulfill your desires. The\u00a0 ultimate and desired outcome for all of My children is to become the very\u00a0 likeness of Jesus. You are not shaped and purified by getting your own way; you\u00a0 are shaped and purified by living in My will. Why do you think Jesus said <\/em>(Matthew 19:23-30)<em> <\/em><em>\u201cTruly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the\u00a0kingdom of heaven?
