{"id":7500,"date":"2012-09-05T06:01:24","date_gmt":"2012-09-05T14:01:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/wordpress\/?p=7500"},"modified":"2012-09-05T06:38:55","modified_gmt":"2012-09-05T14:38:55","slug":"watching-with-jesus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=7500","title":{"rendered":"Watching With Jesus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Stay here and watch with Me \u2014Matthew 26:38<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wS4JQi4dgvg\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nWatch with Me.\u201d Jesus was saying, in effect, \u201cWatch with no private point of view at all, but watch solely and entirely with Me.\u201d In the early stages of our Christian life, we do not watch with Jesus, we watch for Him. We do not watch with Him through the revealed truth of the Bible even in the circumstances of our own lives. Our Lord is trying to introduce us to identification with Himself through a particular \u201cGethsemane\u201d experience of our own. But we refuse to go, saying, \u201cNo, Lord, I can\u2019t see the meaning of this, and besides, it\u2019s very painful.\u201d And how can we possibly watch with Someone who is so incomprehensible? How are we going to understand Jesus sufficiently to watch with Him in His Gethsemane, when we don\u2019t even know why He is suffering? We don\u2019t know how to watch with Him\u2014 we are only used to the idea of Jesus watching with us.<\/p>\n<p>The disciples loved Jesus Christ to the limit of their natural capacity, but they did not fully understand His purpose. In the Garden of Gethsemane they slept as a result of their own sorrow, and at the end of three years of the closest and most intimate relationship of their lives they \u201call . . . forsook Him and fled\u201d (Matthew 26:56).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were all filled with the Holy Spirit . . .\u201d (Acts 2:4). \u201cThey\u201d refers to the same people, but something wonderful has happened between these two events\u2014 our Lord\u2019s death, resurrection, and ascension\u2014 and the disciples have now been invaded and \u201cfilled with the Holy Spirit.\u201d Our Lord had said, \u201cYou shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you . . .\u201d (Acts 1:8). This meant that they learned to watch with Him the rest of their lives.<\/p>\n<p>___________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>September 5, 2012<\/p>\n<p>Lord, thank you for the reminder to watch with You, not just for You\u2026but how do I actually do that? How can I watch with You and look at things like You would, when I often have trouble just avoiding bad or selfish decisions? How can I actually watch with You, like You do when I am so inwardly focused on<br \/>\nthe issues of my life and those of my friends and family? Oh, I see, it is You watching through me.<\/p>\n<p><em>And God says\u2026\u201dWhen you allow Jesus to live through you, by simply focusing on Him, He lives <\/em><em>through\u00a0 you. When you take his \u201cblood and body\u201d, you take Him to live in you and through you. When you are connected it is not you that lives, but Jesus in you.
