Do I really want to get there? I can right now. The questions that truly matter in life are remarkably few, and they are all answered by these words\u2014 \u201cCome to Me.\u201d Our Lord\u2019s words are not, \u201cDo this, or don\u2019t do that,\u201d but\u2014 \u201cCome to me.\u201d If I will simply come to Jesus, my real life will be brought into harmony with my real desires. I will actually cease from sin, and will find the song of the Lord beginning in my life.<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever come to Jesus? Look at the stubbornness of your heart. You would rather do anything than this one simple childlike thing\u2014 \u201cCome to Me.\u201d If you really want to experience ceasing from sin, you must come to Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus Christ makes Himself the test to determine your genuineness. Look how He used the word come. At the most unexpected moments in your life there is this whisper of the Lord\u2014 \u201cCome to Me,\u201d and you are immediately drawn to Him. Personal contact with Jesus changes everything. Be \u201cfoolish\u201d enough to come and commit yourself to what He says. The attitude necessary for you to come to Him is one where your will has made the determination to let go of everything and deliberately commit it all to Him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c. . . and I will give you rest\u201d\u2014 that is, \u201cI will sustain you, causing you to stand firm.\u201d He is not saying, \u201cI will put you to bed, hold your hand, and sing you to sleep.\u201d But, in essence, He is saying, \u201cI will get you out of bed\u2014 out of your listlessness and exhaustion, and out of your condition of being half dead while you are still alive. I will penetrate you with the spirit of life, and you will be sustained by the perfection of vital activity.\u201d Yet we become so weak and pitiful and talk about \u201csuffering\u201d the will of the Lord! Where is the majestic vitality and the power of the Son of God in that?<\/p>\n<p>Journal DJR<br \/>\nGood morning Lord,<br \/>\nToday&#8217;s devotional sums up what we have been hearing for the last 4 years.   It&#8217;s all about the relationship, the connection and your life that comes thru it.   Not to do this or dont do that but simply come to you and then live from whatever we find there.   Wow.  How wonderful and simple is that!   So why do we, (us humans) find it so difficult to do the simple?<\/p>\n<p><em>It is simple and not difficult when you are out of the way.   If your &#8220;old nature&#8221; still lives, it will want it&#8217;s own way.  So immediately there is conflict and simply coming to me becomes difficult or impossible.    So your challenge and the question you can always ask yourself is how &#8220;crucified with Christ&#8221; you are, or are your carnal passions alive and well and pulling you?   Come to me.  Dont just talk about it.  Really come to me. And my life and love will flow into you and life will become an adventure, regardless of circumstance.
