{"id":14601,"date":"2016-08-08T11:06:23","date_gmt":"2016-08-08T15:06:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=14601"},"modified":"2016-08-08T11:33:28","modified_gmt":"2016-08-08T15:33:28","slug":"prayer-in-the-fathers-honor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=14601","title":{"rendered":"Prayer in the Father\u2019s Honor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. \u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?version=31&amp;search=Luke+1%3A35\" target=\"_blank\">Luke 1:35<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"col-sm-4\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Hof9l4UWrMs\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile-sharing-button\">If the Son of God has been born into my human flesh, then am I allowing His holy innocence, simplicity, and oneness with the Father the opportunity to exhibit itself in me? What was true of the Virgin Mary in the history of the Son of God\u2019s birth on earth is true of every saint. God\u2019s Son is born into me through the direct act of God; then I as His child must exercise the right of a child\u2014 the right of always being face to face with my Father through prayer. Do I find myself continually saying in amazement to the commonsense part of my life, \u201cWhy did you want me to turn here or to go over there? \u2018Did you not know that I must be about My Father\u2019s business?\u2019 \u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+2:49\">Luke 2:49<\/a>). Whatever our circumstances may be, that holy, innocent, and eternal Child must be in contact with His Father.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<section class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>Am I simple enough to identify myself with my Lord in this way? Is He having His wonderful way with me? Is God\u2019s will being fulfilled in that His Son has been formed in me (see\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Galatians+4:19\">Galatians 4:19<\/a>), or have I carefully pushed Him to one side? Oh, the noisy outcry of today! Why does everyone seem to be crying out so loudly? People today are crying out for the Son of God to be put to death. There is no room here for God\u2019s Son right now\u2014 no room for quiet, holy fellowship and oneness with the Father.<\/p>\n<p>Is the Son of God praying in me, bringing honor to the Father, or am I dictating my demands to Him? Is He ministering in me as He did in the time of His manhood here on earth? Is God\u2019s Son in me going through His passion, suffering so that His own purposes might be fulfilled? The more a person knows of the inner life of God\u2019s most mature saints, the more he sees what God\u2019s purpose really is: to \u201c\u2026fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ\u2026\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Colossians+1:24\">Colossians 1:24<\/a>). And when we think of what it takes to \u201cfill up,\u201d there is always something yet to be done.<\/p>\n<p>________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>August 8, 2016<\/p>\n<p>My prayer for today-JDV<\/p>\n<p>Father God, thank You for this day, and this devotional and song. And thank You for reminding me that the very same power that raised Jesus from the grave lives in me. I pray that I can live in that realization this day.<\/p>\n<p>I ask You to remind me of this fact over and over today as issues and troubles of this day try to ambush my awareness of my surrender, connect<em>ion <\/em>expectations and curiosity. Please remind me to be aware of my need to live this day allowing You to \u201chave Your wonderful way with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I ask you to heal those that are in need of healing; my mom, David, Luell, and others that are suffering. I thank You for Your healing power over my own infirmities, and I ask You to help me remember to surrender my healing to You as well.\u00a0 Please watch over\u00a0and care for\u00a0my daughters; Melissa in her move to Seattle, and Amanda in her\u00a0 studies and preparations for her next career step.<\/p>\n<p>Thank You for this day, please continue to make me a man after Your own heart, and help me to spread the Gospel today, and use words only when necessary.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. \u2014Luke 1:35 If the Son of God has been born into my human flesh, then am I allowing His holy innocence, simplicity, and oneness with the Father the opportunity to exhibit itself in me?
