God says, \u201cI will never leave you,\u201d so that then I \u201cmay boldly say, \u2018The Lord is my helper; I will not fear\u2019 \u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+13:5-6\">Hebrews 13:5-6<\/a>). In other words, I will not be obsessed with apprehension. This does not mean that I will not be tempted to fear, but I will remember God\u2019s words of assurance. I will be full of courage, like a child who strives to reach the standard his father has set for him. The faith of many people begins to falter when apprehensions enter their thinking, and they forget the meaning of God\u2019s assurance\u2014 they forget to take a deep spiritual breath. The only way to remove the fear from our lives is to listen to God\u2019s assurance to us.<\/div>\n<section class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>What are you fearing? Whatever it may be, you are not a coward about it\u2014 you are determined to face it, yet you still have a feeling of fear. When it seems that there is nothing and no one to help you, say to yourself, \u201cBut \u2018The Lord is my helper\u2019 this very moment, even in my present circumstance.\u201d Are you learning to listen to God before you speak, or are you saying things and then trying to make God\u2019s Word fit what you have said? Take hold of the Father\u2019s assurance, and then say with strong courage, \u201cI will not fear.\u201d It does not matter what evil or wrong may be in our way, because \u201cHe Himself has said, \u2018I will never leave you\u2026.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n<p>Human frailty is another thing that gets between God\u2019s words of assurance and our own words and thoughts. When we realize how feeble we are in facing difficulties, the difficulties become like giants, we become like grasshoppers, and God seems to be nonexistent. But remember God\u2019s assurance to us\u2014 \u201c<em>I will never<\/em>\u2026<em>forsake you<\/em>.\u201d Have we learned to sing after hearing God\u2019s keynote? Are we continually filled with enough courage to say, \u201cThe Lord is my helper,\u201d or are we yielding to fear?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p><!-- .entry-content --><\/p>\n<div class=\"bottom-rule\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"bottom-rule\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"wisdom-wrapper\">\n<p class=\"wisdom-title\">Wisdom From Oswald Chambers<\/p>\n<div class=\"wisdom-content\">\n<p>There is no allowance whatever in the New Testament for the man who says he is saved by grace but who does not produce the graceful goods.
