Come to Me . . . \u2014Matthew 11:28<\/a><\/div>\n
<\/embed><\/object><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Isn\u2019t it humiliating to be told that we must come to Jesus! Think of the things about which we will not come to Jesus Christ. If you want to know how real you are, test yourself by these words\u2014 \u201cCome to Me . . . .\u201d In every dimension in which you are not real, you will argue or evade the issue altogether rather than come; you will go through sorrow rather than come; and you will do anything rather than come the last lap of the race of seemingly unspeakable foolishness and say, \u201cJust as I am, I come.\u201d\"\"<\/a> As long as you have even the least bit of spiritual disrespect, it will always reveal itself in the fact that you are expecting God to tell you to do something very big, and yet all He is telling you to do is to \u201cCome . .<\/strong> . .<\/p>\n

\u201cCome to Me . . . .\u201d When you hear those words, you will know that something must happen in you before you can come. The Holy Spirit will show you what you have to do, and it will involve anything that will uproot whatever is preventing you from getting through to Jesus. And you will never get any further until you are willing to do that very thing. The Holy Spirit will search out that one immovable stronghold within you, but He cannot budge it unless you are willing to let Him do so.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

How often have you come to God with your requests and gone away thinking, \u201cI\u2019ve really received what I wanted this time!\u201d And yet you go away with nothing, while all the time God has stood with His hands outstretched not only to take you but also for you to take Him. Just think of the invincible, unconquerable, and untiring patience of Jesus, who lovingly says, \u201cCome to Me<\/em>. . . .\u201d<\/p>\n

Journal Entry for Today-JDV<\/p>\n

Just when I feel like I have given up my nature to Jesus I do something or say something stupid and or very self serving, and my natural self stares back at me in all his muck and grime. Just when I think I have finally reached a place where I no longer have to be vigilant, I find I should have been vigilant.<\/p>\n

And God says\u2026\u201dWhen you fall, get back up. Confess your sin and come to Jesus. Look to Jesus for your resurrection and vigilance. The Holy Spirit is\u00a0with you so you can become and remain\u00a0vigilant. “<\/em><\/p>\n

“As you have learned, in all things the answer to the question is Jesus. Come to Jesus. Stay connected to Jesus,,,,and live.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

It is interesting that JD and i are finding places to serve and fellowship with roots to John Wesley. \u00a0 Here is a page from a book given to me by the local Methodist Pastor.<\/p>\n

Good roots for sure. \u00a0 I plan to ask him, “When do we get to do the stuff?” \u00a0 … \u00a0The stuff in the book. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The stuff Wesley said to do at every meeting?<\/p>\n

Luelle and i have visited one service of this 100+ year old church and one small group. \u00a0 \u00a0It feels good to us. \u00a0 \u00a0The best part is the openness to a wide variety of experience. \u00a0Along with the congeniality of the people. \u00a0 Certainly not flaming charismatics, but open to as much of that as a person wants to have in their own life. \u00a0 \u00a0From the book, one of Wesley’s mantra’s was “think and let think” \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0I like that. \u00a0 I never really studied Methodism seriously, \u00a0but I like what I’m experiencing here. \u00a0 My stereotype of Methodist was off base, at least at this local congregation. \u00a0 We’ll see where this goes……….. Who’d of thunk it?<\/p>\n
