{"id":5922,"date":"2011-12-16T07:32:24","date_gmt":"2011-12-16T15:32:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/wordpress\/?p=5922"},"modified":"2011-12-16T08:14:12","modified_gmt":"2011-12-16T16:14:12","slug":"wrestling-before-god-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=5922","title":{"rendered":"Wrestling Before God"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Take up the whole armor of God . . . praying always . . . \u2014Ephesians 6:13,18<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<div id=\"post-750\">\n<div>\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-BqyC-NjM5w\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"570\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nYou must learn to wrestle <em>against<\/em> the things that hinder your communication with God, and wrestle in prayer <em>for<\/em> other people; but to wrestle <em>with<\/em> God in prayer is unscriptural. If you ever do wrestle with God, you will be crippled for the rest of your life. If you grab hold of God and wrestle with Him, as Jacob did, simply because He is working in a way that doesn\u2019t meet with your approval, you force Him to put you out of joint (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Genesis+32:24-25\">Genesis 32:24-25<\/a>). Don\u2019t become a cripple by wrestling with the ways of God, but be someone who wrestles before God with the things of this world, because \u201cwe are more than conquerors through Him . . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans+8:37\">Romans 8:37<\/a>). Wrestling before God makes an impact in His kingdom. If you ask me to pray for you, and I am not complete in Christ, my prayer accomplishes nothing. But if I am complete in Christ, my prayer brings victory all the time. Prayer is effective only when there is completeness\u2014 \u201ctake up the whole armor of God . . . .\u201dAlways make a distinction between God\u2019s perfect will and His permissive will, which He uses to accomplish His divine purpose for our lives. God\u2019s perfect will is unchangeable. It is with His permissive will, or the various things that He allows into our lives, that we must wrestle before Him. It is our reaction to these things allowed by His permissive will that enables us to come to the point of seeing His perfect will for us. \u201cWe know that all things work together for good to those who love God . . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans+8:28\">Romans 8:28<\/a>)\u2014 to those who remain true to God\u2019s perfect will\u2014 His calling in Christ Jesus. God\u2019s permissive will is the testing He uses to reveal His true sons and daughters. We should not be spineless and automatically say, \u201cYes, it is the Lord\u2019s will.\u201d We don\u2019t have to fight or wrestle <em>with<\/em> God, but we must wrestle before God <em>with things<\/em>. Beware of lazily giving up. Instead, put up a glorious fight and you will find yourself empowered with His strength.<\/div>\n<div>_________________________________________________<\/div>\n<div><strong>December 16, 2012<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Journal Entry for Today-JDV<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>Lord, when I am reminded who I am in You I become aware of\u00a0 the power, love, grace and mercy that surrounds me all day long. When I am well\u00a0 connected, and in relationship with You, the worry and anxiety of difficult circumstances\u00a0 do not impact my life. When I am reminded of who I am in You, I can rejoice\u00a0 even when I am surrounded by very difficult circumstances. Anyone can rejoice\u00a0 when all the world is in its place and times and circumstances are very good. Believers\u00a0 in relationship are able to rejoice all the time.<\/p>\n<p><em>And God says\u2026\u201dIn this\u00a0 life you will experience troubles and difficulties. They are part of the daily\u00a0 landscape living in a fallen world. However, you need not be caught up in the\u00a0 troubles and difficulties. Get caught up in Me. Stay in a daily, hour by hour,<br \/>\nminute by minute awareness of who you are in Me, and recall some of my\u00a0 promises;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeremiah 29:11<\/strong> For\u00a0I know the plans I have for you,\u201d says the Lord. \u201cThey are plans for good and\u00a0 not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2 Peter 1:4<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 And because of his glory and excellence, he\u00a0 has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable\u00a0 you to share his divine nature and escape the world\u2019s corruption caused by human desires.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew 11:28-29<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cCome to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take<br \/>\nmy yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and<br \/>\nyou will find rest for your souls.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Isaiah 40:29-31<\/strong> He\u00a0 gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.\u00a0 But those who trust in the Lord will find new\u00a0 strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow\u00a0 weary. They will walk and not faint.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Philippians 4:19<\/strong> And this same God who\u00a0 takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which\u00a0 have been given to us in Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Romans 8:37-39<\/strong> No,\u00a0 despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who\u00a0 loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God\u2019s love.\u00a0 Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today\u00a0 nor our worries about tomorrow\u2014not even the powers of hell can separate us from\u00a0 God\u2019s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below\u2014indeed, nothing in<br \/>\nall creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is\u00a0 revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proverbs 1:33<\/strong> But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled\u00a0 by fear of harm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>John 14:27<\/strong> \u201cI am leaving you with a gift\u2014peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift\u00a0 the world cannot give.
