I can right now. The questions that truly matter in life are remarkably few, and they are all answered by these words\u2014 \u201cCome to Me.\u201d Our Lord\u2019s words are not, \u201cDo this, or don\u2019t do that,\u201d but\u2014 \u201cCome to me.\u201d If I will simply come to Jesus, my real life will be brought into harmony with my real desires. I will actually cease from sin, and will find the song of the Lord beginning in my life.<\/section>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever come to Jesus? Look at the stubbornness of your heart. You would rather do anything than this one simple childlike thing\u2014 \u201cCome to Me.\u201d If you really want to experience ceasing from sin, you must come to Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus Christ makes Himself the test to determine your genuineness. Look how He used the word <em>come<\/em>. At the most unexpected moments in your life there is this whisper of the Lord\u2014 \u201cCome to Me,\u201d and you are immediately drawn to Him. Personal contact with Jesus changes everything. Be \u201cfoolish\u201d enough to come and commit yourself to what He says. The attitude necessary for you to come to Him is one where your will has made the determination to let go of everything and deliberately commit it all to Him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c. . . and I will give you rest\u201d\u2014 that is, \u201cI will sustain you, causing you to stand firm.\u201d He is not saying, \u201cI will put you to bed, hold your hand, and sing you to sleep.\u201d But, in essence, He is saying, \u201cI will get you out of bed\u2014 out of your listlessness and exhaustion, and out of your condition of being half dead while you are still alive. I will penetrate you with the spirit of life, and you will be sustained by the perfection of vital activity.\u201d Yet we become so weak and pitiful and talk about \u201csuffering\u201d the will of the Lord! Where is the majestic vitality and the power of the Son of God in that?<\/p>\n<p>___________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>June 11, 2012<\/p>\n<p>Journal Entry for Today-JDV<\/p>\n<p>Lord the lesson You give me over and over and over is simply, for me to embrace and focus on my relationship with Jesus. No rules about what to do or not to do or how to become a better person; the lesson is the same and while on the one hand it makes no sense at all, at my very core I know that it makes all the sense in the world. I am to focus and engage Jesus in the morning, when I rise and all the day and all my life long. Everything else will follow our relationship.<\/p>\n<p><em>And God says\u2026\u201dJesus is the way, the truth and the light. No one can come to the Father, except through Jesus. It is a very simple message; come to Jesus, and trust Him to lead you into all that you need; spiritually, physically, emotionally, financially\u2026.in every way trust Him and know a peace that passes all understanding. You come to mornings knowing that Jesus has you in His hands, and all you can do is praise Him.
