Does everything in my life fill His heart with gladness, or do I constantly complain because things don\u2019t seem to be going my way? A person who has forgotten what God treasures will not be filled with joy. It is wonderful to remember that Jesus Christ has needs which we can meet\u2014 \u201cGive Me a drink\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+4:7\">John 4:7<\/a>). How much kindness have I shown Him in the past week? Has my life been a good reflection on His reputation?<\/section>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>God is saying to His people, \u201cYou are not in love with Me now, but I remember a time when you were.\u201d He says, \u201cI remember . . . the love of your betrothal . . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Jeremiah+2:2\">Jeremiah 2:2<\/a>). Am I as filled to overflowing with love for Jesus Christ as I was in the beginning, when I went out of my way to prove my devotion to Him? Does He ever find me pondering the time when I cared only for Him? Is that where I am now, or have I chosen man\u2019s wisdom over true love for Him? Am I so in love with Him that I take no thought for where He might lead me? Or am I watching to see how much respect I get as I measure how much service I should give Him?<\/p>\n<p>As I recall what God remembers about me, I may also begin to realize that He is not what He used to be to me. When this happens, I should allow the shame and humiliation it creates in my life, because it will bring godly sorrow, and \u201cgodly sorrow produces repentance . . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Corinthians+7:10\">2 Corinthians 7:10<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>____________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>January 21, 2013<\/p>\n<p>Journal Entry for Today-JDV<\/p>\n<p>Lord, I have forgotten lately that all things all possible, that You are able\u2026.thank you for this reminder. I have let the circumstances of my life bring me down a bit, focusing on the difficult details of disappointment.\u00a0Thank you for the reminder that You are truly able\u2026and that Your gift only requires my surrender and acknowledgement that You are God and love me beyond imaginings.<\/p>\n<p><em>And God says\u2026\u201d You have a way of being distracted by your immediate circumstances, and the enemy knows this. Consequently, he will keep sending short term distractions in an attempt to steal your faith, hope and connection. \u00a0Surrender to Me in the morning, afternoon and evening. Surrender and trust the love I revealed through the sacrifice of Jesus. Know that I love you beyond imaginings not because of what you do or can do, but because of\u00a0 Jesus.
