{"id":8113,"date":"2013-01-24T07:18:24","date_gmt":"2013-01-24T15:18:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/wordpress\/?p=8113"},"modified":"2013-01-24T07:32:23","modified_gmt":"2013-01-24T15:32:23","slug":"god%e2%80%99s-overpowering-purpose-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/co2mannatoday.com\/?p=8113","title":{"rendered":"God\u2019s Overpowering Purpose"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>I have appeared to you for this purpose . . .\u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?version=31&amp;search=Acts+26%3A16\" target=\"_blank\">Acts 26:16<\/a><\/h1>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/empiUulYcDs\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"620\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nThe vision Paul had on the road to Damascus was not a passing emotional experience, but a vision that had very clear and emphatic directions for him. And Paul stated, \u201cI was not disobedient to the heavenly vision\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts+26:19\">Acts 26:19<\/a>). Our Lord said to Paul, in effect, \u201cYour whole life is to be overpowered or subdued by Me; you are to have no end, no aim, and no purpose but Mine.\u201d And the Lord also says to us, \u201cYou did not choose Me, but <em>I chose you<\/em> and appointed you that you should go . . .\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+15:16\">John 15:16<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>When we are born again, if we are spiritual at all, we have visions of what Jesus wants us to be. It is important that I learn not to be \u201cdisobedient to the heavenly vision\u201d\u2014not to doubt that it can be attained. It is not enough to give mental assent to the fact that God has redeemed the world, nor even to know that the Holy Spirit can make all that Jesus did a reality in my life. I must have the foundation of a personal relationship with Him. Paul was not given a message or a doctrine to proclaim. He was brought into a vivid, personal, overpowering relationship with Jesus Christ.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts+26:16\">Acts 26:16<\/a> is tremendously compelling \u201c. . . to make you a minister and a witness . . . .\u201d There would be nothing there without a personal relationship. Paul was devoted to a Person, not to a cause. He was absolutely Jesus Christ\u2019s. He saw nothing else and he lived for nothing else. \u201cFor I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Corinthians+2:2\">1 Corinthians 2:2<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>_____________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>January 24 2013<\/p>\n<p>Lord thank you for the reminder that just like Paul, I am called to the person of Jesus; not to a cause or activity or mission. I am called to Jesus. You called me to Jesus. Thank you for that very simple truth. I will try and keep it in the forefront of my heart, mind and vision.<\/p>\n<p><em>And God says\u2026\u201dTry as hard as you might, you will not be able to keep Jesus at the forefront of your mind\u2026you are easily distracted. But you can look for Jesus in every event and activity of your day. In that way, you can learn to behold Him in every aspect of your life, and stay connected. Not just in prayer, Bible study and sharing,\u00a0 but in every aspect of your life.
